Looks like a florin to me. Is it pre 1947? If it is, there's real silver in it. I used to work in a bank and I used to buy the pre 47 silver (this was the early 70's)from my till and sell it to an antique dealer, I used to double my money. Perfectly illegal!

in Canada they got rid of the 1 and 2 dollar bill. now we carry heavy coins..they are threatening to do the same to the 5 bill...

Anji, you're a gem! It's wrong but I haven't heard the word FLORIN for ages!! In Liverpool we used to say, "two-bob bit"!
So, it is not a florin...
just looked on the back...it's from 1920!
It's SOLID Silver from what I remember!
